The Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan

together with the Central Executive Committee of the Tajikistan People’s Democratic Party in

order to implement the instructions and directives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity,

the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon to

enhance domestic tourism development as well as present as many tourism opportunities in the

country and abroad, held a conference on “Development of Tourism Opportunities in Tajikistan”

in Safed Dara Ski Resort located in Varzob district.

The management of the Committee for Tourism Development, the Tajikistan People’s

Democratic Party, the Varzob District State Executive Authorities, the Chairmen of the

Executive Committees of the People’s Democratic Party of the regions, towns and districts, the

Committee for Tourism Development staff and domestic tourism companies attended the

conference.

The conference dealt with effective implementation of state policy in tourism, development of

tourism infrastructure, attracting investment, improving the quality of services, protection and

presentation of natural and historical sites, tourism related trainings for specialists, options for

arranging routes for development of domestic tourism and other issues related to the

development of tourism activity efficiency.

It was noted that the continuous initiatives and support of the Government of the Republic of

Tajikistan have laid a favorable foundation for presenting the country’s tourism potential and

increasing the number of tourism destinations, as well as creating more opportunities for hosting

domestic and international tourists.

Tourism development requires the involvement of all stakeholders. Tajikistan has great

opportunities and potential for tourism development and their promotion should be done in an

appropriate and attractive way. Only then can tourism in Tajikistan be taken to a high level. All

conference participants were invited to go on a tour within Tajikistan and thereby enhance the

tourism image of the country.

Domestic tourism is considered to be an important industry worldwide and nowadays the

authorized state body in tourism sector, based on the constructive and creative policy of the

Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, in close

cooperation with ministries, agencies and local executive bodies of state power and private and

public associations, uses all its forces and resources to present the country’s tourism

opportunities, increasing the contribution of the tourism sector to the country’s economy.

After the conference, the participants of the event were invited to have a tour within the resort

and get acquainted with the facilities and services provided by Safed-Dara Ski Resort.

Safed-Dara Ski Resort Tourist Complex has modern infrastructure, services and facilities that

meet international standards. Currently, this unique natural site attracts the attention of domestic

and international tourists and visitors.

Conference halls of various sizes enable meetings and training sessions to be held at an

appropriate level. A teahouse offers national cuisine. There is a cable car, skiing, snowboarding

and ice skating for children and adults, as well as many other outdoor activities.

The three-star hotel complex consists of 54 rooms and can accommodate 240 people at a time.

Additional infrastructure, such as a restaurant, an outdoor barbecue area, a grocery shop, a ski

equipment shop, ski equipment rentals, a snow park, etc., has been built on the ski resort

grounds.

Moreover, there is a summer recreation and entertainment camp for children and teenagers

where experienced specialists, instructors and guides are available to serve tourists and guests.

It is worth noting that domestic tourism will have a significant impact on the development and

expansion of inbound tourism, as well as on the awareness of residents about the country’s

tourism opportunities, providing an opportunity to get acquainted with the life and activities of

the population of other regions, ancient culture and civilization. Most importantly, visiting and

experiencing the unique and mesmerizing country’s tourist attractions increases the spirit of

patriotism, homeland pride, by further strengthening the national unity.

More than 3,000 registered historical and cultural monuments and specially protected natural

areas contribute to the development of domestic and international tourism in Tajikistan.

The Designated State Authority in tourism sector, within its competence in line with the

objectives of the Strategy for Tourism Development in the Republic of Tajikistan for a period of

up to 2030, carries out activities with international organizations on regular basis to adapt the

country’s tourism product to international standards.

Furthermore, it should be noted that the Tajikistan People’s Democratic Party, based on

instructions and directives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation,

and Honorary Chairman of the Party, Emomali Rahmon, expressed during the meeting of the

Central Executive Committee on November 30, 2022, has arranged professional development

courses for the Chairmen of the Executive Committees of the Party in regions, towns and

districts since February 13, 2023.

The training course for the chairmen of the party’s executive committees in the regions, towns

and districts will continue up to February 24, 2023 based on the developed program that includes

educational activities and other cultural activities.
